Valves are essential components in numerous industrial applications. Their main task is to control or completely shut off the flow of liquids or gases. Depending on the area of application, the design, actuation principle and mode of operation vary - from simple mechanical to fully automatic.

A particularly precise variant is the needle valve, in which the valve piston is designed in the shape of a needle. Due to its axial movement in the direction of the sealing seat, it enables fine control of the volume flow, even with very small flow rates. This makes needle valves particularly suitable for dosing and fine control applications in process, chemical or laboratory technology.

Especially when used with corrosive or abrasive media, the demands on the material used increase significantly. Conventional metals wear out quickly or react chemically with the medium.
