Sensor protection

Sensor protection - Precisely manufactured protection solutions for sensitive measuring systems

Sensor protection plays a key role in sensitive measuring and testing processes. In order to obtain precise measured values and at the same time extend the service life of the sensor technology, the sensitive elements must be reliably shielded against abrasive, chemical or thermal loads - without impairing the function or reactivity of the sensor.

DOCERAM sensor protection solutions, available exclusively from Megatron, meet these requirements with the highest precision. Typical protective components such as wear caps, protective disks or cover plates are adapted exactly to the requirements of the respective sensor. This allows the sensor to be placed as close as possible to the measuring point - be it on a workpiece, in a liquid or in a flowing medium.

The materials used, such as Cerazur®, are made of impact-resistant zirconium oxide and are characterized by exceptional wear resistance, high temperature resistance and chemical inertness. These high-performance ceramic materials also enable thin-walled components that physically protect the sensor but remain optically, thermally or electromagnetically transparent.

Application examples:

  • Protection of sensitive test sensors in oil and gas pipelines

  • Wear protection for measuring probes in the chemical industry

  • Heat-resistant covers in test benches and mechanical engineering

Your advantages with DOCERAM sensor protection:

  • Long service life with permanent protection

  • No impairment of the measuring accuracy

  • Inductively neutral, chemically resistant

  • Suitable for optical, thermal or capacitive sensors

  • Precisely adaptable to any sensor system
