Z-101

DOCERAM Z-101 – High-Performance Zirconia for Precision Industrial Components

DOCERAM Z-101 is a high-performance technical ceramic made of
yttrium-stabilized zirconia (ZrO₂ Y-PSZ). The material is characterized
by its high mechanical strength, excellent impact toughness
and very good wear resistance.

With a bending strength of 1,000 MPa, a compressive strength of
3,000 MPa, and a thermal conductivity of just 2 W/mK,
Z-101 is particularly well-suited for precision components subjected to mechanical stress. The
material can be used at operating temperatures up to 1,000 °C.

Benefits of DOCERAM Z-101

  • High flexural and compressive strength
  • Excellent fracture and impact toughness
  • Very good wear resistance
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Electrically insulating
  • High dimensional and shape stability
  • Surface that can be polished very well
  • Suitable for operating temperatures up to 1,000 °C

Typical Applications

  • Positioning and Guide Pins
  • Precision Bushings
