Testing technology - reliability right down to the last plugging process

At the end of every manufacturing process is the test - crucial for quality and functionality. So-called end-of-line tests (EoL) are used in testing technology. The electronic or mechatronic component is contacted via a test plug, functions are checked, software is loaded or stress tests are carried out.

These testing processes often take place in three-shift operation, with tens of thousands of insertion cycles per day - the highest stress for every test component. This is where the wheat is separated from the chaff: only materials with extreme wear resistance and dimensional stability meet these requirements in the long term.

Megatron - Your partner for DOCERAM components in testing technology

Megatron distributes the high-precision ceramic test components from DOCERAM, which have been specially developed for demanding EoL test applications. High-performance ceramics are superior to other materials in many respects: they are electrically insulating, non-magnetic, extremely wear-resistant and dimensionally stable even with minimal wall thicknesses - even after millions of mating cycles.

Why ceramic is the ideal solution for test plugs

Conventional materials such as plastic wear out quickly and can no longer meet the increasing demands for miniaturization and process reliability. Ceramic test plugs made from DOCERAM materials:

  • are up to 20 times more wear-resistant than hardened steel

  • offer lasting dimensional accuracy, even with tolerances in the micrometer range

  • prevent abrasion and contamination in the test environment

  • ensure electrical insulation and mechanical robustness

Many automotive suppliers already rely on ceramic test plugs from DOCERAM - with success.

Typical applications in testing technology

  • Ceramic test plugs - for 100% functional testing in series production

  • Contacting plugs and masks - for precise electrical connection in the smallest installation space

  • Test adapters - customized for complex geometries

  • Covers - insulating and abrasion-resistant to protect sensitive assemblies
